                                 UP! CLUB

What is the UP! Club?

The UP! Club is a peer support group for young adults with Down syndrome and is part of Down Syndrome NSW.

The UP! Club meets about 4 times each month, and most activites are based in the Sydney CBD, close to all forms of public transport.

All UP! Club activities are organised and facilitated by the UP! Club Coordinator, Brooke Jones.

Volunteers also attend activites to supervise and provide support and friendship.

What is it about?

The UP! Club is about young adults with Down syndrome getting together to do things and hang out with each other. It's about:

  • seeing each other and having fun!
  • doing stuff in your life - like everyone else!
  • making lifelong friends!
  • sharing our lives!
  • raising community awareness about Down syndrome!
  • participation and inclusion of young adults with Down syndrome in the community!
  • celebrating independence and developing social skills!
  • involving circles of support to help young adults with Down syndrome be confident contributors to society and to fulfil their dreams!

Who is it for?

It's for young adults (over 16) with Down syndrome. A team of volunteers also comes along to provide support.

If you like the sounds of the UP! Club and wish to become a member, go to the 'UP! Club Membership' page to find out more and fill in the membership forms.

If you wish to support the UP! Club by volunteering, please go to the Volunteers section to find out more information.

If you wish to donate to or sponsor the UP! Club and the wonderful service it provides, please go to the Sponsors page and lodge your interest.

What Do We Do?

What don't we do is more the question!!

At the UP! Club, we get out and about in the community as much as possible, and get involved in activities such as ten pin bowling, dinner and drinks, plays and musicals, rugby games, art gallery exhibitions, museum tours, karaoke, dancing, art and craft days, shopping, picnics, harbour cruises and so much more!!

Check out the Programs page and look at our past and current activity schedule!
